Microsoft is supposed to be involved in getting hardware makers to design touch enabled Ultrabooks.

Windows 8 will bring the big touch push to the Microsoft world. There will be tons of Windows 8 tablets and apparently Microsoft wants to see lots of touch enabled Ultrabooks as well. Digitimes reports that industry sources revealed that Microsoft is actively involved in future Ultrabook designs. The standard clamshell design is not ideal for touch as the screen is not stable enough. Folding designs are the solution. This way you convert your Ultrabook in a tablet and use it like one.

The new touch enabled Windows 8 Ultrabooks are supposed to conquer 30% of overall Ultrabook shipments in 2012.
