Apple has been fighting a trademark infringement suit against a Chinese company called Proview for a while now over the iPad name. This week a top Chinese official said that China was siding with Proview, which is no surprise. The comment seemed to hint that Apple may lose the rights to the iPad name in China.
Apple maintains that purchased worldwide rights to the iPad name from Proview while Proview says Apple didn't purchase rights to use iPad in China. We'll be paying attention to see what happens this case.
