iPhone 5 is 125mm tall and 7.4mm thin claims new Rumor

Rumors that the iPhone 5 has 4-inch display have appeared already several times. Apple is rumored to keep the width of the iPhone constant and make the new iPhone taller to accomodate a 4-inch display. Today iLounge adds specific measurements to this rumors.

Their sources say that the new iPhone 5 will be 125mm tall (10mm more than iPhone 4S) and 7.4mm thin (1.9mm less than iPhone 4S). The rear casing of the iPhone 5 is supposed to be metal as rumored already last year. The back panel will not be curved as rumored last year, which points to a similar design.

The new 2012 iPhone is also supposed to utilize Gorilla Glass 2 on the front. The dock connector is also supposed to shrink.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
