Last week a rumor broke that Microsoft will offer a Xbox 360 4GB with Kinect for $99 with a 2-year subcription to Xbox Live for $14.99. Now this $99 Xbox deal is available at Microsoft Stores.

Microsoft just published the rumored $99 Xbox subscription deal on the Microsoft Store site. The $99 Xbox deal requires to bring the offer code 885370366266 to a Microsoft store. You then need to sign up for 2 year subscription to Xbox Live Gold Membership at $14.99 per month and you receive then a brand new 4GB Xbox 360 with Kinect for only $99

Microsoft says that they may terminate this offer at any time. It seems that Microsoft is still in test mode for subsidized Xbox.

A new 4GB Xbox 360 costs you $299.99 usually. The Xbox Gold Card for $12 months has a regular price of $59.99. You would pay $419.97 regularily. With the subscription deal you end up paying $458.76. So over the 24 months you only pay about $30 more. This is a pretty good deal if you do not have the cash at hand and can commit for the full 2 years. There are early termination fees that apply. The deal looks though less attractive if you can find discounted consoles and the Xbox Gold Card is for instance right now on sale on Amazon for only $48.41.
