Apple has managed to keep an image of security of its operating system for years. The growing popularity of OS X makes it more attractive for cyber criminals to target it with viruses and other malware. Apple has to increase the protections to keep its users save. Computing (via TNW) reports that Apple has asked Kaspersky Labs to analyze Mac OS.
"Mac OS is really vulnerable," he claimed, "and Apple recently invited us to improve its security. We've begun an analysis of its vulnerabilities, and the malware targeting it," said Kaspersky's CTO Nikolai Grebennikov.
Apple needs to ramp up its security infrastructure to react faster to threats like the Flashback Trojan.
