Netflix Launches New Web-Based Video Player

If you're a fan of streaming Netflix video online, you will be glad to hear that the company has launched a new web-based video player. The new player offers text overlays when you posit video and can preview the entire season the show while watching one episode of the show in full screen mode. It's worth noting that there are apparently some issues on Chrome for Mac at this point due to a limitation of Microsoft Silverlight, not a problem Netflix's part.

The new player has a better looking control bar with access to subtitles, season previews, and text menus are replaced with bigger icons. You can preview additional episodes of the show from within the player even when watching video in full-screen mode. The resizing of windows on a computer is also smoother now. It sounds like an all-around better experience with the new player.

Orange Is The New Gold: Uzo Aduba Wins Emmy For Best Guest Actress

Source: Bossip.com

See the latest slang that has been included in the Oxford dictionary

Source: MyFox 8 WGHO

NEW YORK — This is truly “cray:” the Oxford Dictionary publishers are totally plugged in to pop culture. For those who haven’t been keeping up, it looks like a “hot mess.” Among the 50 new word ...

TV Club: Battlestar Galactica: Miniseries, Part 1

Source: The A.V. Club

Here we are, at the beginning.A miniseries is a weird way to start an hourlong show—it’s a deliberately irregular pace compared to what the rest of the show is going to do, and it requires an awful lot of investment from first-time viewers trying to get into the series. So it’s weirder still that it works for Battlestar Galactica. Partly that’s because the show has so much it needs to establish in the first few episod ...

The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
