Apple pays off a troll
Apple and patent troll SimpleAir have settled out-of-court ending a legal spat that's been going on since September 2009. SimpleAir has no products in six to make money off of licensing patents. The company had filed suit against Apple for allegedly infringing on four patents having to do with a system and method for transmitting data and contact alerts for unconnected users.

Apple has agreed to settle with the company outside of court for an undisclosed sum of money. The case was set to be heard in April by the E. Texas Court famous for siding with patent holders against other companies.
