Nintendo's Wii U Game Video is making Fun of Nintendo Gamers?

Nintendo has broadcasted as part of the 30 minute Wii U E3 Direct Presentation a "Game Video" demonstrating the new social features along the Wii U Gamepad. Is it me, or is the bad acted bit making fun of gamers? Maybe not intentionally, but come on. Why is the gamer talking to his action figure? Why is he needing advice from a 90 year old? Why is he obviously a complete loser?

The Wii U will be connected into social networks and even if games are not multi-player you will be able to connect with your friends to play games. Nintendo chose to show those new capabiliites of Miiverse on the Wii U with a very weird game video yesterday in a special pre-E3 video presentation. Or is it just me that finds this video ridiculing Nintendo gamers. Watch for yourself below. The game video starts at 12:40.
