The launch of the Apple iPad is next week on April 3rd and more and more details about the content offering on the iPad get unearthed. AppAdvice already unearthed pricing of bestseller books on the iPad, now they discovered that Apple is apparently offering the free eBooks of the Gutenberg Project on the iBookstore.
AppAdvice has seen books of the Gutenberg Project listed in the iBookstore, but cannot confirm if all titles are there.
Project Gutenberg offers 30,000 free eBooks on their site for download. The copyright in the United States has expired on these books and volunteers have digitized them to make them accessible on eReaders.
