Amazon is supposed to work with Foxconn on the new aPhone and also is prepared to acquire patents to protect itself from patent claims.
I am not sure if it makes sense for Amazon to offer a smartphone. It only would work if Amazon bundles service with the phone. This would mean Amazon would offer a branded wireless service they buy from some other carrier.
