Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver Universal Remote Control Is Perfect for Relaxing Time Lords

If you're a fan of the science fiction show Doctor Who, you'll definitely want to own this Sonic Screwdriver Programmable TV Remote from ThinkGeek. This remote will ship in early September for $99.95 and is made from hand polished and copper plated die cast metal.

The remote can store 13 gestures and has three memory banks for a total of 39 remote control codes. It has no buttons and you have to use gestures to control the TV with things such as rotating clockwise or counterclockwise to control the volume. It makes spiffy sound effects from the television series and has a learning mode so you can learn to make the gestures required control your TV. The sound effects can be turned off.

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
