Details are not official, but Comcast has purchased Microsoft's 50% stake in MSNBC.com. MSNBC.com was founded in the mid-90s was one of the first major corporate websites online in the news market. While terms haven't been officially announced, sources close to the deal claim Comcast paid Microsoft $300 million for its 50% share.
As of now, MSNBC.com redirects to NBCnews.com it will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Eventually, MSNBC.com will go to a website that is the online portal for the MSNBC TV station.
