Will the iPhone 5 really be 4G LTE?

Is Apple considering 4G LTE now mature enough to support it?

Several reports claim now that Apple will unveil the iPhone 5 on September 12. Most rumors over the last months have focused on the new larger screen and the new mini-dock connector. Some early reports talked about Apple supporting 4G LTE in the iPhone 5. Is that just wishful thinking or is Apple really now at the point to adopt 4G LTE for the iPhone.

Apple did make the new iPad 4G LTE capable, but only for the United States. Apple can not afford another marketing disaster to not support a feature globally. Definitely not for the new iPhone. So if Apple is launching an iPhone 5 4G LTE than it needs to work world-wide. There are communications chips that would do that, but again is Apple thinking that this is the right time for 4G LTE or not.
