Windows 8 Retail Packaging leaks

Microsoft will release Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro on October 26. The Verge got their hands on a shot of the Windows 8 retail boxes. The new Windows 8 packaging is fairly simple. It's a square box. Windows 8 comes in a white box and Windows 8 Pro in a dark grey one. The illustrations look a bit too retro for my taste.

I actually never bought a boxed Windows 8 OS. I always get the bulk or OEM version. These have always been much cheaper and who needs the printed Windows manual?

Windows 9 hasn’t been officially announced yet (we don’t even know if that will be its name) but already we’re starting to see screenshots purportedly showing off the feature that is set to get most, if not all of the attention -- the restored Start menu. Myce.com managed to get hold of two new screenshots -- one showing off the new menu, and the other providing an example of windowed apps. They were taken from build 9795, which was compiled on July 13 (the calendar says both shots were taken ...

About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
