As reported a couple days ago, the German Telekom issued so called "Premieren Tickets" that are supposed to give you early access to the iPhone 5 pre-order. Now carrier Mobilecom Debitel offers an email notification about the new generation of smartphones coming in September. Both carriers do not mention a specific iPhone.
These promotions ahead of the iPhone 5 pre-order are great ways for carriers to gauge the demand. They might even be able to take the number back to Apple and ask for more launch inventory.

The new iPhone 5 is expected to be announced on September 12th. The iPhone 5 sales are then to begin September 21st. Rumored features of the new iPhone 5 include a larger screen, A6 CPU, iOS 6, small dock connector, 4G LTE and NFC. The overall design would not change dramatically. The backside material is not glass anymore as Apple introduces a unibody design. The rumors also say that the iPhone 5 is very thin.
