The iPhone 5 will have a new smaller dock connector. iLounge reports that Apple has not shared the specs with 3rd party providers. According to their sources, the Dock Connector Adapters would sell for $10 each or three for $29. Apple-branded USB cables would sell for $19 each. This way Apple would generate a nice profit. On the other hand it is not hard for Chinese copycats to clone those accessories and sell the on the cheap through eBay and other market places. We even have already seen a USB cable with the new dock connector coming out of Asia (see photo above). So I am not sure if this is such a big deal.
The new iPhone 5 will be announced on September 12. The iPhone 5 sales are then to begin September 21. Rumored features of the new iPhone 5 include a larger screen, A6 CPU, iOS 6, small dock connector, 4G LTE and NFC. The overall design would not change dramatically. The backside material is not glass anymore as Apple introduces a unibody design. The rumors also say that the iPhone 5 is very thin.
