Amazon made a huge splash yesterday with the introduction of a very strong new tablet line-up even Apple will have problems defending its tablet market share. Jeff Bezos made clear that Amazon is also a technology company going head to head with Apple. Amazon plays their key advantage of being an ecommerce power house and offers cool state-of-the-art tablets for little money. The 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD with 16GB for only $299. Amazon integrated some cool technology features into the Kindle Fire HD that no other tablet has yet. Amazon made it really clear that "gadget" tablet vendors that do not have a strong content e-commerce platform can not compete with them. Even Apple will have troubles to stay ahead. Google and Microsoft need to step up their content platform offering dramatically to stay in the tablet space. About the Geek Mind

The “geek mind” is concerned with more than just the latest iPhone rumors, or which company will win the gaming console wars. I4U is concerned with more than just the latest photo shoot or other celebrity gossip.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
