Amazon made a huge splash yesterday with the introduction of a very strong new tablet line-up even Apple will have problems defending its tablet market share. Jeff Bezos made clear that Amazon is also a technology company going head to head with Apple. Amazon plays their key advantage of being an ecommerce power house and offers cool state-of-the-arttablets for little money. The 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HD with 16GB for only $299. Amazon integrated some cool technology features into the KindleFire HD that no other tablet has yet. Amazon made it really clear that "gadget" tablet vendors that do not have a strong content e-commerce platform can not compete with them. Even Apple will have troubles to stay ahead. Google and Microsoft need to step up their content platform offering dramatically to stay in the tablet space. After this Holiday shopping season we might just see two main tablet companies remain: Amazon and Apple.
