GoDaddy DNS is Under Attack rendering tons of Sites Offline [Updates]
I just found out of a massive internetoutage as one of our hosted gallery services is offline. The reason for the outage is that GoDaddy's DNS is under attack. Domains registered or using GoDaddy DNS servers are not accessible. This means millions of sites are offline.
A hacker part of the Anonymous collective claims responsibility according to Mashable. Anonymous Own3r tweets that the attack is only coming from him. GoDaddy issued a status alert on Twitter an hour ago that they work on it. Well, it has been 1 hour already. If your business depends on GoDaddy than you have a major issue right now.

Anonymous Own3r is pretty talkative on his twitter account. He tweeted that the DDOS attack could last an hour to a month. He wants to test the cyber security of the internet and something else he does not reveal yet. Read his tweets here.

The “geek mind” is concerned with life, in all its different forms and facets. The geek mind wants to know about societal and financial issues, both abroad and at home. If a Fortune 500 decides to raise their minimum wage, or any high priority news, the geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants to know the top teams in the National Football League, or who’s likely to win the NBA Finals this coming year. The geek mind wants to know who the hottest new models are, or whether the newest blockbuster movie is worth seeing. The geek mind wants to know. The geek mind wants—needs—knowledge.
