Apple unveiled the new iPhone 5, new iPods and also a new iTunes at the event yesterday. The new iTunes 11 comes in October. If you click today on Ping in iTunes you get the message that Ping will be shut down on September 30. Apple is now accepting that consumers want to use Facebook and Twitter. There is no need for yet another social network to share music. Ping gets added to failed Apple products. There have not been that many in recent years.
Apple has also released iTunes 10.7 yesterday in preparation for iOS 6.
