Smaller DSLR promising high quality images and video

Nikon has officially announced its new FX-format D600 DSLR camera. Nikon promises that this is the smallest and lightest FX-format camera around. The camera offers 24.3-megapixel image resolution and is capable of recording full HD resolution video in two different formats. The camera can record HD video in FX-format and DX-format depending on the user's needs.

The D600 has a 3.2-inch rear LCD and an optical viewfinder with 100% frame coverage. The camera is capable of recording movies nearly 30 min. in length and uses the same EXPEED 3 image processing engine using higher-end Nikon cameras. Pricing and availability are unannounced at this time.
