iPhone 5 Maps Gate Incoming

Apple has kicked out Google Maps with the release of iOS 6. Now an Apple made Maps App is supposed to show you the way. There are some great things in Apple Map like 3D fly overs and solid turn-by-turn navigation. What Apple seems to have overlooked is map quality. There are tons of reports coming in from around the world finding flaws in the map data. It is so bad that the Apple Maps app issues make it into the BBC coverage. Early iOS map users encounter missing cities, wrong names, wrong locations and more.

Besides the bad map data quality, users complain about the missing public transit data.

Apple Maps is for now the only issue raised with the new iPhone 5. The shit storm about Apple Maps has just started to rise. With the iPhone 5 release tomorrow, it could become a full blown iPhone 5 Maps Gate.

Google is likely releasing a Google Maps app. The funny thing is that this would actually help iPhone sales if Apple is slow to fix Apple Maps.
