Apple is maybe adding another material to its product casings. Japanese blog Macotakara (via AppleInsider ) reports that a source told them that Apple ordered carbon fiber parts from a Japanese company. The order was already filed back in March. This would actually give Apple enough time to use carbon fiber in the iPad mini that has been in production since summer. Carbon Fiber is sturdy and light. Apple has filed a couple patents around making carbon fiber housings.
The iPad mini is expected to be unveiled in October.
