LG Display has announced that it has filed a patent infringement lawsuit in a courtroom and Seoul, South Korea against Samsung Electronics and Samsung Display. The patent infringement suit alleges that Samsung is infringing on seven patents LG Display holds having to do with OLED displays. Samsung is seeking financial damages and an injunction on sales of alleged infringing devices.
Samsung is likely to fight this case with everything it has to because among the devices LG Display is claiming infringes on its patents is the Galaxy S III. There are several other Samsung devices that LG claims infringed on its patents as well. Samsung has promised to respond with legal action if required.
