Samsung Electronics announced the GALAXY S III has surpassed 30 million global sales in approximately five months since its debut in May. Putting this number into perspective, during a similar selling period (150 days), the acclaimed GALAXY S II, launched in 2011, globally sold 10 million devices. To add more perspective, Apple sold 26.9 million iPhones in the last quarter.
The question is how long the Galaxy S III will continue to sell well with the iPhone 5 having set new performance standards. Samsung would actually need to bring a Samsung Galaxy S IV fairly soon.
