Black Friday is in one week. The online Black Friday 2012 sales will start again early Thanksgiving Day and will offer more doorbuster deals than ever before as retailers try to compete for online shoppers. Stores still would prefer to get you in the store to lure you into impulse buys, but growing number of consumers is using online shopping because it offer a number of advantages.
Shoppers can stay home and avoid waiting around in front and in stores for the Black Friday doorbuster deals to go on sale. Additionally you can compare prices in a flash and shop multiple stores at the same time. Another advantage is that savvy shoppers can keep their options open. If a deal slips through their fingers online, they still can go out Thanksgiving night to get the deal in-stores.
According to the Wall Street Journal the NRF sees online Black Friday shoppers to bring in 40% of the expected $52.4 billion for retailers. In one or two years the majority of revenue will come from online Black Friday sales.
