Google Maps Gets Store Maps in Time for Holiday Shopping
Google Maps users that have the app on their Android smartphones or tablets have been able to get store maps within the application for a while. However, Google has now announced for the first time that it has rolled out the store maps to the Google Maps service online. That means if you access with your iPhone via Safari you can get store maps.
Store maps might not sound like such a big deal, unless you are shopping in the city with a mall where you are unfamiliar with the store location. If you're in a larger store such as a Home Depot or Lowes, you can even get store maps that show you which part of the store specific items are in.
That means if you don't know where the tools are, Google Maps will tell you. Google Maps has indoor floor plans for over 10,000 locations around the world including retail stores, airports, museums, and even Las Vegas casinos.
