Amazon was the big winner of the weekend
Rather than fighting the crowds in retail stores on Black Friday, November 23, about 57 million Americans shop online for Black Friday deals. ComScore reports that online shoppers spent $1.042 billion on Black Friday 432% increase compared to last year.

For the holiday season of 2012 spanning November 1 through November 23, $13.7 billion has been spent online. That is a 16% increase versus the same period of 2011. Online shoppers spent $633 million on Thanksgiving Day alone.
The company that benefited most from the significantly increased online shopping over the holiday weekend was Amazon, which was the most visited e-commerce website. Rounding out the top five in order were Walmart, Best Buy, Target, and Apple.
