New Nintendo Wii U out-sold Wii in First Week

Nintendo's America President Reggie Fils-Aimie said that Nintendo sold 400,000 Wii U units in the US in the first week after launch.

The Nintendo Wii U sold 400,000 units in the first week, this is 100,000 more than the original Wii sold in 2006. Regis Fils-Amie dropped that bomb in an interview with CNET. So is Nintendo on to something with the Wii U? I am not that blown away by the Wii U and reviews are mixed. But apparently the Wii U is off to a great start. The Wii evolved in a huge hit for nintendo and is still selling strong because it is dirt cheap.

Nintendo could have sold more Wii U, but it was not able to produce enough units to satisfy the initial demand. They are working replenish the channel. The Wii U is has just shown up again in stock at GameStop in both versions.
