Not long after the rumor that Lenovo might be looking to buy Palm, we hear that HTC could have their eyes set on the same prize. Rumors from a local Taiwanese paper say that Peter Chou, HTC's CEO, has been at home just 5 days of the last three weeks.
Neither company spoke on the rumor. The acquisition of Palm would be a huge coup for HTC, though. They'd gain access to all of Palm's patents, and would be able to pick and choose from webOS and their smartphone designs. The Pre could also see new life from this merger. Imagine a next generation webOS phone built by HTC.
