Our friend materialspieler finally got his sports equipment blog up. The first story is about the new Adidas 1 shoe.
Quote:
"For runners the right shoe is the most important piece of equipment. The challenge is to find the right balance between cushioning and stability. This is a tough choice as the requirements during most runs are changing. What feels like a perfect balance when trotting easy on the flat might feel like a false compromise when charging up a steep hill.
Adidas, who invented the torsion bar in the ‘90s, intends to solve this quandary. The Adidas shoe 1 is expected to be in stores this December. It represents the first intelligent shoe, using digital technology to adapt to different situations. The user interface consists of two buttons and five light emitting diodes as a display. The shoe will be delivered with a CD-ROM and the target price is $250."
