Images of a trackpad appear on Engadget which could show a new input device from Apple. The Apple Magic Trackpad would bring finger gesture input to your Mac. The end of the mouse?

The Apple Magic Trackpad would connect via Bluetooth to your Mac desktop or laptop.

There are no real details, just three very real looking shots of the Apple trackpad. In February a trademark record appeared for Magic Trackpad. Update: Engadget got more photos of the Magic Trackpad and the information that it supports handwriting recognition.

Since we are trained now to use fingers on the iPhone and iPad, it makes sense to apply this to other Macs. I still think the iMac needs a touchscreen for the same reason.

The WWDC 2010 keynote starts in a couple hours. We will know then if the Magic Apple Trackpad is real. If real then the iPhone 4G is not the only hot new thing from Apple at the WWDC 2010.
