NTT DoCoMo introduces new 3G Mobile Phone D900i

NTT DoCoMo, Inc. announced today the nationwide release of the D900i, the newest model in the 3G FOMA® 900i series, on June 23, 2004.

The FOMA D900i's CCD honeycomb camera offers 1.92 mega-pixel recorded resolution and 1 mega-pixel effective resolution. It records and plays videos at up to 24 frames per second. The D900i connects to a normal TV set (via an optional cable) to play back videos and still images recorded with the handset.

Content saved onto a Memory Stick Duo™ can be played on the handset screen. The D900i is compatible with Memory Stick PRO Duo™ cards.
In Japan is clearly a trend to make mobile phones look and handle more like normal digital cameras. See photo below from the back-side of the D900i.
More details in NTT DoCoMo Press-Release.

NTT seems to release a new 3G phone every month. (F900iT, N900iS, P900iV) Anywhere else 3G hand-sets are if at all available in limited models.
