Verizon Wireless is using LTE for their 4th generation network. Verizon already said that it will upgrade their networks to LTE in 20 to 30 markets in 2010.
In May we reported that Verizon is planning to launch LTE Tablets in Q4 of 2010 and we would have to wait for LTE phones until 2011.
BGR published a rumor now that says that Verizon would already sell LTE handsets on Black Friday 2010.
I am not sure how believable this is, but Verizon should try everything to get a LTE handset on the market as soon as possible to counter Sprint's 4G early move with the Evo 4G and with the upcoming Epic 4G. The direct quote from BGR's tipster is also not mentioning handsets specifically, just mentions new devices.
Verizon LTE Tablets and data cards are more likely to be the devices you can buy on Black Friday, which falls this year on November 26th. See also which deals have dominated last year's Black Friday.
