Toshiba continues to push the boundaries on small hard drives for portable devices.
The Toshiba 60GB "MK6006GAH" achieves the highest capacity (93.5-gigabits of data per square inch) and the 30GB "MK3006GAL" slims down drive thickness to only 5mm. Toshiba can pack 30GB of data onto a single 1.8-inch platter, an increase of 50% over current models. Mass production will start in October. So maybe some Portable Video Players or Music Players will have 60GB by the end of the year.
