Sony increases HDTV Resolution

Compare Prices for Sony HDTVs Sony introduces new signal processing in their upcoming HDTVs that increases resolution and image quality.

The resolution of HDTVs is currently 1,280 x 720 pixels. Sony's new technology is supposed to raise this to 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.
More details in Sony Press-Release (japanese) and on Nikkei.Net (subscription). Sony also plans to incorporate PS2 chips into their new TVs as we reported the other day.
