Half Life 2 started to be available for download on Valve's Steam service.
Steam is Valve's online distribution and update service for Half Life and Counter Strike. Users can download Half-Life 2 now for free and need to wait to purchase an activation and are then ready to play to most anticipated game of the year (besides Doom 3).
There are no infos yet when users can activate the downloaded Half Life 2, but it cannot be long. Read the Steam announcement. See also the vivid half life 2 discussion thread on Slashdot.
