Taiwan's Hsuan Mao Technology Co., Ltd. claims to have the World's Smallest MP3 Player with built-in Li- lon battery. CNA News reported that Hsuan Mao Technology (HSM) will show the World's Smallest MP3 Player at the 2004 Taipei International Electronics Show.
I emailed HSM to get more details on this mysterious mp3 player. I received the specifications and a photo today of the small MP3 Player.

The round pendant style MP3-6610 has a diameter of 40mm and a width of 12.2mm. Compared to the EraTech Coin-Sized MP3 Player that got announced last year the HSM MP3 player is 2mm smaller in diameter but 2mm thicker. The EraTech EMP-Z weighs 14.2g the HSM 6610 weighs 17g.
Based on the diameter the new HSM MP3 Player is the World's smallest MP3 Player. Overall, I still would say the coin-sized EraTech EMP-Z is it.

The EraTech EMP-Z is sold as BeatSounds EMP-Z and also by Virgin Electronics. Topselling MP3 Players on MP3PlayersRule.

Hsuan Mao Technology MP3-6610 Specification:
128MB Storage
4-6 hours battery life
USB 1.1
MP3 File Format
