Leading video game analyst Michael Pachter estimates that Nintendo's upcoming 3DS handheld will retail for around $300 and it could sell as many as 10 million units at that price.
"We view the 3DS as a revolutionary device, and expect its launch to spur hardware and software sales," wrote Michael Pachter in a CVG story.
Nintendo has not made an announcement about the price of the system, but it is expected to be somewhere between $250 and $300. At a price of around $300, it would be the most expensive Nintendo handheld since the Virtual Boy.
However, sales are very likely to be much stronger than the ill-fated red-and-black virtual reality system.
"I think that they can sell out the first 10 million at any price below $300, and think that the experience is well worth a price that high," added Pachter.
