The saga of the white iPhone 4 is one of loss, disappointment, and misery. BGR recently managed to get their hands on the body of a white iPhone 4. They took it apart, put the new body on, and suddenly realized why the white version hasn't hit mass production yet. Apparently, the new case makes the screen look semi-transparent.
There are also some major issues with the quality and color of the body. The tint changes between the white front and the home button. Also, the proximity sensor did not seem to work in the new case. It is possible these issues are different from the ones that caused Apple to delay the white version, but BGR presents a compelling case. Minor (but infuriating) cosmetic imperfections are the kind of things Steve Jobs cannot abide.
