So looks like everybody and his neighbor picked up a Nintendo DS last week. CNet reports that 500,000 units were sold in the first week after the Nintendo DS Launch.
Now 90% of available Nintendo DS consoles for the US Holiday shopping season are gone and supply shortages of the DS are happening at retailers online and offline. Amazon right now only has 3rd party offers over $200.
Factory sealed Nintendo DS consoles are still available under $200 on eBay auctions. So I think the situation is still not totally crazy.
