We reported about Toshiba's backed HD DVD format news yesterday. Today the competing Sony backed Blu-Ray DVD format strikes back with Disney announcing support for Blu-ray.
Although Disney does not expect to release Blu-ray discs in 2005. HD DVD has support from other hollywood film studios. Disney also does not exclude to support HD DVD as well. Anyway I think one standard has to die in 2005 or blue laser based DVD players need to be able to read both formats.
