STARNEX offers a new cool small gadget for video and audio surveillance called Self-Guard.

Self-Guard is a micro mobile and covert Digital Video Recorder with built-in Cameras, Microphones, LCD Screen, Speaker and Battery. The tiny DVR measures only 85(W) * 55(H) * D(22) mm and weighs 150g. Internal memory is 128 MB Flash Memory( Up to 1GB). The battery holds 4.5 hour for continous video recording.

This is the most feature-rich Portable Media Player/Recorder on the planet as far as I know, although it is not aimed at entertainment.

The Self-Guard gadget lets users monitor, record video and audio, search through recordings, connect to LAN or via Bluetooth to a PC.

Starnex sees applications of the Self-Guard in Residential areas, Law offices, Police units, Lavatories, Airports, Jewelry shops, Construction sites, Department stores, Factories, Train stations, Meeting room, Public transportations, Offices, Hospitals, Stores and Military bases.

With the Docking Station users can connect up to 4 external cameras, 1 external microphone, up to 3 external sensors, an external monitor and LAN.

Starnex will participate in the ISC West (International Security Conference West) in Las Vegas through April 6th to 8th, 2005. The Stand number is #3143.
