Google offers another new free toy called Google Web Accelerator.

The Google Web Accelerator is as small software tool (works with IE5.5+, Firefox 1.0+) that uses the Google servers as proxy cache for web pages. It is designed for broadband connections like DSL or cable.

I have used it now for 10 min. and the little Web Accelerator toolbar shows that I saved 15.9 seconds of my life - mhm... On average I saved 0.1-0.2 seconds per page loaded. So far that does not really excite me. CNN pages came pretty fast though. I will test it a bit more. If you are concerned about privacy, Google has this answer for you.
