Sony PS3 Pricing

In an article about the Sony PS3 the Japanese Nihon Keizai Shimbun mentions that the price for the Sony PS3 is expected to be 50,000 yen (~465USD, 368EUR). The Sony PS2 initial price in Japan was 39,800 yen, so the new Playstation would start with a $100 higher price-tag.
Not cheap, but compared to the cost for two of the Sony Wega 42inch HDTV LCD TVs it really does not matter.
