Since this review is covering several products I am going to work the review in a slightly different way than normal. I am going to look at each product and give them individual ratings and for the over al rating I will average the individual ratings and score the products as a whole. So let’s get into the gear!

Atlona Flat HDMI Cable
First up is the Atlona Flat HDMI Cable and my review sample was 5M or 16 feet. As the name implies rather than being round like typical HDMI cables, Atlona uses a flat cable design. The flat design helps to reduce crosstalk between the conductions and if you are running cable in a room where it will be on the wall rather than in the wall, flat is defiantly the way to go. The Atlona Flat HDMI Cable is also very flexible making it easy to run around bends, corners and furnishings in a room. Once the cable is ran up the wall it blends in quite well, and the guys out there who are married know how important that is.

The connectors on the HDMI cable are 24k gold plated and the actual wire used is 26AWG high-purity oxygen free copper and the cable is triple shielded for maximum protection against EMI and RFI. My particular cable was white in color, which matched well with the white walls in the room. You can also get the Atlona Flat HDMI Cable in black. If you prefer to use the Atlona Flat HDMI Cable in the wall it is CL2 rated for that purpose. The 5M cable I used here retails for $59.99. I rate the HDMI cable a 9.5 out of 10.

Atlona 30” to 63” Plasma LCD Adjustable Angle Wall Mount
Next up is the Atlona 30” to 63” Plasma LCD adjustable angle wall mount. This product is well made of thick metal, yet is still light weight. The bracket will support TVs of up to 165 pounds. A really cool feature of this wall mount is the adjustable angle. You can angle the TV to + or – 15 degrees which is excellent if you are mounting your TV higher up on a wall to get the best viewing experience. For instance if you are mounting your plasma above a fireplace mantle not being able to angle the set down makes for uncomfortable viewing. As with any wall mount, be sure you secure the 30” to 63” Plasma LCD adjustable angle wall mount to the wall correctly or risk damaging your TV.

All hardware needed to secure your TV to the wall mount and to the wall is included and the hardware is of high quality just like the wall mount itself. There is lots of adjustability built into the wall mount and adjusting it for angle easy and straight forward, you simply loosen the knobs and adjust the TV then tighten them back up. You can adjust the angle with the TV mounted to the wall as well. Pricing for the 30” to 63” Plasma LCD adjustable angle wall mount is $79.99. Well built and easy to use, the 30” to 63” Plasma LCD adjustable angle wall mount is well deserving of a 9.0.

Atlona Universal Projector Bracket
If you are a fan of HD projectors you know how important ceiling mounts are. Sure you can just set your projector on a table or shelf, but if they aren’t high enough up every time someone stands up their head blocks the image. If you have children in the house they are drawn to the bright light a projector puts out just like a moth so getting the projector up high keeps it away from little hands as well. The Atlona Universal Projector Bracket PRB-2 is easy to mount to the ceiling and will support projectors up to 28.6 pounds. The part of the mount that holds the projector has four adjustable arms that secure to your projector. While this projector bracket has universal in its name it may not fit all projector brands. Once the bracket is mounted you can adjust your projector +/- 15 degrees for tilt, +/- 25 degrees for pitch and +/- 5 degrees turn to allow for perfect adjustment of your projector to your screen. Quality components and a one size fits most design makes this a good option to mount your projector to the ceiling. I would rate it a 9.0 out of 10.

Atlona Pro Home Theater Power Cable
The final product is the Atlona Pro Home Theater Power Cable #50-5702-2. The cable I am reviewing here is 2M or six feet in length. You can get the cable in five foot and three foot lengths as well. This cable is intended to replace the wimpy power cable that ships with most home theater components. The Atlona Pro Home Theater Power Cable has up to a 20amp rating making it appropriate for most all your home theater components. The three pin male to three pin female design will work with PCs and some stereo equipment as well. Internally the cable uses three large copper conductors with silver plating with dual shielding and gold plated connectors to get the cleanest power possible, each of the three internal wires is 8 AWG and they use dual 100% Mylar and 95% copper braid shielding for maximum EMI and RFI rejection. The total thickness of the cable is 20 mm including a 2mm jacket. The price of this ultimate power cable is $91.99 and if you want the cleanest power flowing to your components this is the cable for you. This cable deserves a solid 9.5 rating for high quality build.

  • All products had great build quality
  • Items were priced competitively

  • Projector bracket may not fit all projectors

All of the Atlona products I have tested here performed very well. The flat HDMI cable is perfect for those wanting a cable that blends into the room. The plasma mount and projector bracket are both well built and the power cable is thick, strong and robust. If you are looking for top notch accessories to round out your home theater, Atlona is a one stop shop for most all your needs.
