12 inch Head Up Display for Mobile Phones

Korean Company Sunyang DNT shows a prototype of a mobile phone with a 12 inch Head Up Display (HUD).

TelecomsKorea reports that Sunyang DNT plans to mass produce the HUD display this fall. I do not quite understand how to use the HUD display. The diagram shown indicates that the display needs to project the image against a wall. I am not sure why they call it Head Up Display.
