New Bayesian Google Result Spam Filter Software - Spacilus

Spacilus is a Search Engine Assistant for Google that uses Bayesian statistics (like many email spam filters) to categorize search results.

Spacilus for Google integrates seamlessly into the Google result pages and automatically marks search results entries as Information, Commercial or Spam based on the users training it.

This is very powerful when for instance looking for support on a product and being able to fade out all commercial offerings and spam from stores, price comparison and similar sites and just focus on reviews, discussions or vendor support pages for the product. See a screen-shot below, where commercial offerings are faded out on a Google result page.

I am beta testing the Spacilus Search Assistant for Google since it's first alpha version. It works as local proxy and it is not installing yet another browser toolbar. Spacilus only becomes visible on the Google result pages. The software is FREE and in Beta right now. Be one of the first to use this unique software - download (673KB) it now!

How does it work?
Spacilus uses Bayesian statistics to categorize search results. Bayesian classification looks at the joint probabilities of a search results words and phrases to belong to a certain category. For example, a search result that contains a phrase like "price comparison" will most likely belong to a category "Commercial" or "Spam" rather than to a category "Informative".
