BenQ will be partnering with Siemens and setup a new mobile phone joint-venture.
As reported yesterday, Siemens found a partner for their troubled mobile phone business. Now based on an article on the Financial Times Deutschland the partner will be BenQ. BenQ is a small player in the global mobile phones business so far. There is the BenQ P50 smart phone that is still not on the market. And first shown at CeBit is the BenQ Z2 (photo) mp3 mobile in cube shape.
Apparently BenQ (a spin-out of Acer) makes most of its revenue from manufacturing electronics for other companies. The partnership with Siemens could change that, if they are going to be successful.
More details on the Financial Times Deutschland site (German).
