The new interesting NetGear Storage Central backup gadget is supposed to hit stores in August.
SmartSync Software informed us that NetGear chose to OEM their backup software for the Netgear Storage Central. Walter Mossberg from WSJ reviewed their software a while back.
The NetGear Storage Central is a networked device that has two 3.5" IDE hard-drive bays (HDDs sold
separately. Storage Central features True SAN technology, which is an advanced network storage technology. True SANs
provide block-level data transfers, delivering sustained performance much faster than low-cost NAS devices.
No pricing information available yet.
