Always 10c per minute, for local, long distance and roaming calls nationwide - sound sweet and easy.
Mobile prepaid discounters are set to mix-up the mobile phone carriers. In Germany Simyo just reported today that they already have 100,000 customers since it started in May. The success is understandable. Simyo offers just one low rate, people are just sick of different rates throughout the day or based on where they are or who they call.
Net10 started a couple days ago in the United States with a flat 10c per minute rate. They offer two Nokia (Refurbished Nokia 1100 sells for $29.99) and two Motorola phone which have rapid refill installed, that allows customers to add airtime directly from the handset. Voicemail and text messaging (5c/sms) are also featured.
Net10 has a comparison between them and other prepaid services.
This mobile discounters can become huge and if they do, mobile phone rates will go down across the board.
